Dr. Julius Otundo is a highly respected educationist and consultant with over 30 years of impactful service in basic and higher education. A key architect of Kenya’s Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), he has been instrumental in training educators, engaging parents, and shaping curriculum reforms. His publications, including the Parental Engagement Guide on the New Curriculum and Influence of Devolved Government on Education, reflect his deep commitment to transformative education.
A highly sought-after speaker, Dr. Otundo has presented at prestigious local and international forums such as the GESS Education Leaders’ Conference (Kenya & Dubai), Transformative Education Conference (Singapore), and the World Conference of Strategic Management (California). His expertise spans curriculum interpretation, blended learning, learner-centered pedagogies, A.I in education, innovative assessment, and career pathways. Dr. Otundo is also well sought for in matters teacher capacity building and institutional strengthening in other forms of curricula, namely International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge International Education (CIE), Waldorf Education and Pearson International among others.
Holding a Doctorate in Strategic Management, a Master’s in Education Leadership & Management, a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Arts) and multiple postgraduate diplomas, he is a specialist in curriculum redesign, design thinking, and innovative assessments. He has trained faculty at top higher learning institutions, including Laikipia University, The East African University, The Adventist University of Africa, Riara University, Zetech University, and The Open University of Kenya among others on their preparedness to CBC.
